The Five-Percent Nation, sometimes referred to as the Five Percenters or the Nation of Gods and Earths (NGE/NOGE), is a movement influenced by the Nation of Islam founded in 1964 in the Harlem section of the borough of Manhattan, New York City, by Clarence 13X, a former member of the Nation of Islam who was previously known as Clarence Edward Smith.
